Plus Size OOTD: 90's Inspired

If you were growing up in the 90's, chances are your mom would have had you wear a white shirt under a sundress. Wearing a white shirt under your dress was a big thing back then. I actually think it's really cute. I think a lot of it had to do with being modest which I always appreciate. I am a fan of a lot of the 90's fashion. I'm glad that it's coming back! While I only lived in the 90's for 7 years, there are certain things that I still remember. Sadly, I wasn't a teenager back then, so I wouldn't have gotten into some of the trends that the teenagers wore. I'm glad that the 90's carried into the 2000's a bit. :)

Floral print was also big in the 90's. When I was young, I had a plethora of floral things. I can look back at old photos of when I was a child and see the proof!

A crucial accessory to have if you're going for a 90's inspired look is a black choker. It can be those tattoo chokers or just a simple black choker with a charm. I have a sunflower charm because sunflowers were also popular at that time.

A popular hair style to rock back then were the "space buns." I really love them. I just think they're super adorable. :) It was really simple. I just messily put two buns on either side of my head and stuck bobby pins in to hold them in place. I have really thick hair, so I used quite a few. I went more for a looser "messy hair, don't care" vibe.

Pinky brown shades of lipstick were pretty popular as well as the brick red shades, so I popped on this gorgeous lipgloss from N.Y.C in the shade, Madison Square Mauve. To me, this gloss looks more pinky brown instead of mauve. I love it because it's so cheap! You get great color pay off which I love dearly.

If you could go back and live in any era, which one would you choose?

  1. Very cute look! I love the 90's vibes...you captured the style perfectly! I really like that shirt under a sundress look too - should wear it more often.
