Plus Size OOTD: Debate Party

 :

My family had a debate party last night since the debate was coming on at 9pm. We enjoyed being together while eating and catching up on things. No matter who wins the election this year, I know that God is always in control. :)

Parties give me a chance to dress up! I'll be the only one there wearing red lipstick. Haha I decided to dress a little patriotically to go with the theme. I did it in a slightly more casual way since I threw on my plaid vest. I was able to finally pull it out since the weather is slowly getting cooler.

Of course, I couldn't forget my adorable crossbody that I purchased from Walmart a little while ago. I love it so much! It's perfect for a patriotic outfit, but you can also wear it with other kinds of outfits as well. It has polka dots and stripes on it which makes it easier to wear it with other looks besides patriotic ones.

I hope you have a great day and as always, I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart!

GOMO (Going Out More Often): My Fall Activities Bucket List

 :
* This post is NOT sponsored.

Happy Fall, Y'all!

Eventbrite has inspired me to squash FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) and counteract it with GOMO (Going Out More Often). Eventbrite is the largest self-service ticketing platform in the world that helps people find and plan events. With Eventbrite's event planning and managing software, you can keep track of tickets, track sales and registrations. It's an easy, quick way to plan your event and keep it all in one place without stressing about it. Who wouldn't love that? I'd rather enjoy myself and make memories without all of the fuss. Often times, I will plan things out on pen and paper. While this can be a great thing, I am prone to loosing my lists and just completely forgetting about them. With this software, it's all in one place and there's no way that you can misplace it like you can paper!

This fall, there's no need to stay at home and miss these wonderful memories that you could be making! Get off the couch, and get out there! I made a fall activities bucket list and I'm throwing a little twist on it. I decided to also create different looks that I made on polyvore.com just for this that you could wear to these activities that I'm sharing below. Enjoy!

#1. Go to the Fall Apple Festival. Around where I live, there is a Presbyterian church that holds their annual Fall Apple Festival and donates the money that they make from the festival to several charities that they have chosen for that year. I think it is a great thing that they do and I'd like to go this year since I have never been before. It's on October 15th, so that's not too awful long from now. It's a free event to go to and it would be perfect to bring along your kids, grandkids, or anyone for that matter! They sell homemade BBQ, apple butter, fried apple pies, funnel cakes, and much more. This year, they are even having live entertainment. If you are like me and live in the South, it's something you can look forward to for some country, family oriented fun.

#2. Have a weenie roast. My Grandpa had always loved having a weenie roast every year with the family. Sadly, he passed away in February of this year. I'd like to keep his wonderful tradition alive and have a weenie roast. It's such a wonderful time to spend with family conversing and eating together. It makes us all closer. I love roasting hot dogs over the fire, drinking hot chocolate, feeling the cool breeze against my cheeks, smelling the smoke from the fire, and just being with my loved ones. My Grandpa was a great, intelligent man and he knew how important family was. I am glad that he knew how much his family loved him before he lost his battle with cancer. Always cherish those moments that you spend with your family, because you never know if it could be the last time you see them.

#3. Go pumpkin picking at the pumpkin patch. When I was a little kid, my school took us all to the pumpkin patch to pick out our very own pumpkin to keep. It was like a treasure trove looking at the various sizes and shapes of pumpkins. There were hundreds to choose from and I remember how beautiful they all looked in a row just waiting to be picked. It's a cute tradition to start with your family. You can take the pumpkin home and carve it, or make a nice pie out of it! Either way, it's an opportunity to have fun and spend time together as a family.

#4. Have a picnic. I love nothing more than having a picnic on a crisp, cool, fall day. There's just something so magical about it! All of the colors in the Earth that God has blessed us with are more vibrant and alive. I love this time of year. You also don't have to worry about bees stinging you with murderous rage...Haha ;) Having a picnic gives you a chance to get outside and enjoying the scenery while munching on a tasty treat. It's a time for peace and relaxation while drinking some apple cider out of a thermos.

#5. Go on a nature walk. It's nice to be outside in the fall since it isn't too hot. You can actually enjoy the scenery while walking. They say that it's the very best exercise that you can do for your body, so why not enjoy it at the same time? Bring a camera with you and stop to take pictures to document your lovely experience. You might just be surprised what you end up catching on your camera while walking through nature. If you have kids, you can challenge them to find the biggest leaf that they can. It might make them more excited to be walking around if they are given a fun task to complete. However you choose to go about walking outside, make sure you enjoy yourself and just have fun!

4 Easy Fall Outfits To Recreate

 :

Happy Sunday!

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." -Matthew 24:35

Since it is officially Autumn, I thought that I'd share a few easy outfit ideas that you can easily recreate yourself with clothes that you already have in your wardrobe!

I am constantly looking on Pinterest and other fashion blogger's websites for some inspiration. It's so fun to see how other people dress and create looks that they love. Since I like getting inspiration from various people, I thought that you might like to see the kinds of things that I like to wear during the fall months. If you'd like a little bit of cool weather inspiration, then stick around! ;)

Leopard print is a great fall print. I adore leopard print. If you've been reading my blog for quite some time, then you'd know that by now. ;) I kind of use leopard print like another neutral. In this outfit, instead of throwing on a plain black scarf, shoes, and bag, I mixed it up a little bit and threw on my funky leopard accessories. I love adding fun pops of patterns in more solid, plain outfits.

Wearing a poncho is a socially acceptable way to wear a blanket around in public. I kid you not! Around this time last year, I bought my first poncho. I have to tell you, it is an absolute dream! It's pretty perfect for lazy days. Just throw on this bad boy with anything and you have a comfy, but cute outfit! It honestly is like wearing a blanket around...but a fashionable blanket...Haha

Adding a vest over your layers can really add interest and warmth to your look. I adore...I repeat...I adore my denim vests. You can throw them over anything. You can wear them both in the summer and fall depending on what material they are made out of. The one I'm wearing below is made of a thicker material, so I only wear it in the fall and winter. It has a detachable hood on the back and it's just adorable! My Grandma thought of me and got it for me for Christmas last year. I can't wait to pull it out and wear it! Even if you are just wearing a simple tee, throw a vest over it. You will not be disappointed. I can guarantee you that! You'll see how it makes the outfit overall look more interesting.

Mixing textures, prints, and patterns is the way to go in the fall months. I can't get enough of print/pattern mixing. It's just such a fun thing to do. It helps to make you think outside the box when wearing different outfits. I personally do not have a lot of money to spend on new things all of the time, so pattern mixing really comes in handy to stretch out your outfits. They give new life to clothes that you thought that you could only wear with one certain color or design. It's really not as scary as it sounds, I promise! Here, I've mixed camo print and leopard together. It's an unexpected combination, but I think it works. I threw on a crocheted hat and faux leather boots for that texture mixing. If you don't want to mix prints, that's okay! Just do what makes you more comfortable.

I am so sad that it's not yet fall weather where I live. I'll just have to make due with fall colors for now. I'm so jealous of you gals that are wearing blanket scarves and boots! Enjoy that wonderful weather for me! ;)

While dealing with hot weather, it is such a lifesaver to wear a kimono. I've talked about kimonos until I'm blue in the face, so you're probably tired of hearing it. I'm telling you though, they are versatile and so easy to throw on over anything.

I hope that you have had a fabulous Friday!
