My Autumn Essentials

Happy October 1st, y'all!

Fall, or Autumn, is my very favorite season and it makes me feel the happiest! Winter is definitely a close second. ;) There is just something so magical about the fall season that makes me wish that it could stay that way forever. Everyone slows down. They all relax and gaze at the beauty, that God has created, unfold before them in the loveliest of ways.

I thought I'd make a list of my personal fall essentials. I'm sure that everyone is different, but these are the things that I would recommend!

 :

Blanket Scarf- I could never say enough good things about a big, cozy, blanket scarf. If it's plaid, it's even better! You can throw it on over anything and automatically look presentable and ready to go even when you don't feel like it. You can wrap the scarf around you since it's so big and wear it like a shawl. You can use it as a pillow if you're traveling. You can use it as an actual blanket if need be. There are so many ways that you can wear it as well! You can look on Pinterest and look at the many ways that people wear their blanket scarves. It will give you some great inspiration. If you'd like to follow me on Pinterest, you can click here to check out all of my boards. ;)

Mulled Cider Candle- Candles. Everyone loves them. They make everything smell terrific, for one, and they provide a warm and cozy light. They just kind of make you feel happy overall. Well...they do me anyways. For the fall season, I adore mulled cider candles. My cousin actually got me into them. They are just the perfect fall scent. They smell incredible! I also adore pumpkin candles. Aaahh. So good.

Beanie- A beanie should just be a staple in every woman's wardrobe. Unless you don't like beanies, which is cool. You do you! :) They are so warm and cozy! I love them. I wear a black one all of the time in the colder months because it really goes with anything. It also gives your outfit a more casual vibe if that's the look you're going for. I'm pretty sure that beanies exist in every single color known to man. Since most of the heat escapes from your head, a beanie will help keep you warm.

Deep Red Lipstick- Not just red lipstick, DEEP red lipstick. There's a difference! ;) I love darker lipsticks in the fall and winter. They give a grungy and/or glamorous look depending on how you wear them. I am a lipstick fanatic anyways, so I like all of the dark colors. Give me all of the wine red lipsticks!!

Pumpkin Spice Creamer- Oh. My. Heavens. To. Betsy. This creamer is life. It tastes so amazing in your coffee and just reminds you of fall every time you take a sip. Yeah, I'm one of those girls who loves pumpkin spice anything. So, sue me! If you are a big fan of pumpkins in general, I'm pretty positive that you would love this creamer. I purchase mine at either Walmart or Ingles depending on where I am at the time.

Boots- Whether your style is amazingly grungy, or cute equestrian, boots can help to change up your look. Not only do they look really cute, but they keep your feet dry and toasty!  I am amazed by all of the various colors and details that they make. You can find boots with cool hardware or even floral print! The options are endless.

Vinyl Records- Aaahh. The sweet sound of vinyl. There is a raw, magical sound that takes place that you really can't describe unless you've heard it. Something you may not know about me is that I adore vinyl records. Since high school, I've always wanted a record player. I finally got one given to me from someone that didn't want it or want to use it anymore. Of course, I was super stoked! The same people were also giving away records. Oh, man. I was over the moon! I was so excited that an Elvis record was in one of the piles. It was very well loved. It has such character to it and I love that about it. I have several records now and I love them all. The record I've been listening to the most at the moment is the Charlie Brown Christmas record. I'm also a huge Charlie Brown fan. I can relate to him so much! haha I love the comic strips, movies, and episodes. They are just so cute and give me such nostalgia.

Socks- When you were a kid, I'm sure you hated getting clothes and socks, right? As adults, we seem to love them now. What a funny switcheroo! I definitely have a love for adorable socks. They make so many designs, colors, and patterns now. The novelty socks are some of my favorites and don't even get me started on fuzzy socks. They're pretty magical. I like showing off my socks in the fall and winter since I don't sweat profusely and can actually wear them. Get some socks with pumpkins all over it for that autumn touch!

Plaid Button Up- Yes, yes. We all know that I have an unhealthy obsession with anything plaid. Throw on a plaid button up over a graphic tee and jeans and call it a day! It can spice things up in a once plain outfit. They are wonderful layering pieces and can easily be taken off when needed. A button up, like a scarf, can make it look like you are more put-together than you actually are. You wanna know where I get my copious amounts of plaid button ups from? Thrift stores. They have the most amazing ones there. There are tons to choose from! Be warned, once you start, you can't stop. ;)

What are your fall essentials? Let me know!

Summer Fashion & Beauty Essentials

 :

It's hot. It's sticky. It's humid. It's summer time! Oh, the joys of boiling in the heat. ;) If you couldn't already tell, summer isn't my favorite season by a long shot, but you can still enjoy it with a few essentials! These are my personal must-haves for the hot summer months.

Kimono: If you didn't know already, I am majorly obsessed with kimonos. They are so light, airy, and versatile. You can throw them over anything and instantly have a put-together outfit. They are everywhere in stores and come in many different colors and patterns. I can't get enough of them! They're perfect for these hot, sticky, summer months because they're so flowy and thin. You can throw them over a tank top and a pair of capris and call it good.

Straw Hat: I've become quite fond of hats recently and a straw hat is a great summer essential because it's light and there are tiny holes throughout making it easy for a nice breeze to flow right through. If there's actually a breeze, that is! ;) You can wear straw hats with anything and they just look adorable. They also serve a purpose by keeping the sun out of your eyes.

Sandals: Sandals are just such lifesavers. They are open, so they keep your feet cool while you're walking around in the hot sun all day. My favorite sandals are Croc sandals. No, I'm not sponsored, I just really love Crocs. I have these Croc sandals and I wear them all of the time. I wear them pretty often in the summer because they go with anything and they are light and easy to slip on and off.

Scrunchies: I've loved scrunchies since I was a little girl. I have really thick hair and I find that they pull and tug less on my hair when I need to throw it up in a bun or pony tail. They also come in many different patterns and colors, which I love. You know me! I like to coordinate with my outfits! ;) I wear my hair up in a messy bun pretty often in the summer, so scrunchies are a must-have for me.

Iced Coffee: Oh, man. I LOVE coffee so much! I need that caffeine to get me up in the morning and get a start on my day. Iced coffee is a glorious thing when it's hot outside. I find that when I drink coffee straight out of the pot, I end up sweating and get so hot and toasty when it's already too warm outside. When I drink iced coffee, I'm much more refreshed and cooled off at the same time. Caffeine is important, ladies! Am I right?!

Waterproof Mascara: They say that the eyes are the windows to your soul. I want my eyes to look fluttery and full when people look into my soul! Haha While waterproof mascara is a pain to scrub off, it's also a lifesaver at the same time. When you're out in the heat and sweating to death, your mascara won't budge.

Setting Spray: This stuff is just magical! After I do my makeup, I spritz my face a few times with this stuff and my makeup stays put. I absolutely love it. It's so nice to know that your face won't melt when you're out and about sweating yourself to death. I highly recommend it. Right now, I'm really loving the Loreal setting spray. It's pretty fabulous.

Sunscreen: Ladies! If you don't do anything else to protect yourself from the sun, please at least wear sunscreen! It will protect your precious skin from the damaging rays. It will protect you from skin cancer and sunburns. Trust me. A few years ago, I got sun poisoning because I did not lather on that sunscreen. I regretted it more than anything. My skin was red, swollen, puffy, bruised, and full of boils. It was a very painful experience. Wear. Sunscreen. Please!!

Tinted Lip Balm: I am a lipstick lover, but sometimes I just feel like it melts off when it's boiling outside. My favorite lip product for the summer is a tinted lip balm. Not only is it moisturizing, it gives off a nice color without being thick and heavy. I recommend looking for a tinted lip balm with sunscreen in it. Your lips can burn too, so it's important to protect those babies!

Do you have some summer essentials that I haven't mentioned in this post? Let me know in the comments!

My Sick Day Essentials

 :

I'm feeling very under the weather today. I hate getting sick, as I'm sure everyone does. So, I've decided to make this blog post about my "Sick Day Essentials" so that you could possibly gain some new essentials for when you are sick too. I'm sure everyone's essentials are very similar to mine, but I thought it would be fun to share. :)

Sherpa Blanket: A sherpa blanket isn't just a regular blanket. I'm serious! It's amazing! It's incredibly soft. It definitely keeps you warm while sitting around on your couch all day. My favorite sherpa blanket that I'm covered up in right now has a huge cat covering the entire front. If you know me at all, you know I'm obsessed with cats, so it does make me happy.

Netflix: Oh, yes. Netflix is definitely a sick day essential. You can watch tons of movies and t.v. shows right on your phone, computer, or t.v. It's pretty awesome. I've had Netflix for a few years now and it has definitely gotten me through some sick days. My favorite category is probably the Children's/Family section. Disney movies? Yes, please!

Fuzzy Socks: I honestly don't know anyone who dislikes fuzzy socks. Seriously. I can't think of one person. They keep your feet so toasty and come in all kinds of different prints and patterns. They make you feel pretty good when you're sick unless your body feels warm. I guess it depends on what kind of sickness you have.

Pajamas: It's not crucial to have cute pajamas, but it helps. ;) Matching pajamas are some of the cutest things. It just kind of makes me happy to wear them. They also just make you feel less like a bum while you're sitting around all day.

Kleenex: This stuff is a must have! They are so much softer than using toilet paper. Believe me, blowing your nose with Kleenex feels like angel wings caressing your nose compared to using toilet paper that feels like sandpaper cutting you to pieces. Maybe that's a little dramatic...but it's life changing if you're used to only using toilet paper.

Coffee & Tea: Ahhhhh, yes. Two of the best beverages on the planet. I'm also a huge fan of Diet Dr. Pepper, but that's besides the point. If your throat is hurting, coffee and tea both help sooth it at least temporarily.

Bubble Bath: Taking baths are heaven when you're sick. The hot water just helps open up your lungs and throat. Steaming up and breathing in the hot air really helps you breathe better. Just put on some Pandora and relax. Just concentrate on getting better.

Cough Drops: If you get really good flavored cough drops, they are a dream. Not only do they help you stop hacking out in public if you have to be somewhere, but they coat your throat and help medicate it. I really love raspberry flavored cough drops. Honey flavored ones are nice too.

What are your sick day essentials? I'd love to know!
